Senior Environment Artist - Echtra Games

Position Overview

Echtra Games is looking for a Senior Environment Artist to join our growing team for a new cross platform ARPG project. The Environment Artist will build immersive, realistic environments based on concept art, reference, and design direction. Successful candidates will possess the ability to work both independently and in cooperation with the Art Director, artists, and g-ame designers to support the artistic vision of our project.

Main Responsibilities

• Model, UV, and texture organic and hard surface 3D assets for use in real-time game engine
• Work with level design to iterate and improve on the game play
• Work with concept team to achieve a stunning visual style
• Work closely with game designers to create memorable moments
• Modify and improve existing game assets and environment art pipeline

Requirements

• A portfolio showcasing a strong understanding of 3D environment creation
• 5+ years of industry experience in games as an Environment Artist with at least one shipped title
• Expertise with Maya or 3DS Max
• Expertise creating textures for real time 3D game environments
• Strong visual sense with environments and an ability to work from concept and reference
• Show an understanding of modeling and texturing to engine and game performance benchmarks
• Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, and a great team-player attitude
• Able to take direction from the Leads and Supervisors and feedback from the Directors to improve art quality and level layouts

Pluses

• Experience with Unreal Engine or similar such as Unity 3D
• Experience using Substance Designer
• Experience using ZBrush
• Level design or world building experience

The pay range for this position in  California at the start of employment is expected to be between $91,100 and $130,000 per year. 

However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.   Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.  Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
