Summary
This position provides technical solutions to business community to meet user needs. The position requires expert Software Delivery knowledge for the corresponding business unit(s), as well as an understanding of the organization's systems and capabilities. The Business Analyst provides knowledge on the direction of the business by utilizing the information of the business processes and technical capabilities to implement solutions to the more complex business needs/problems.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
Gathers, refines and validates complex business requirements, interdependencies, cross-functional dependencies and potential risks and issues.
Creates JIRA tickets (developer assignments in the chosen agile project management / issue tracking system) based on designs and requirements documentation.
Interfaces with internal teams/developers, clients (other internal business units as well as over third party development teams), and ensures work is completed on time, within scope, and exceeding quality standards.
Creates development ready documentation, including system and functional requirements, JIRA dashboards (status reporting) meeting takeaways such as action items specific to development team support.
Conducts gap analysis assessments on existing functional and business requirements as well as user experiences.
Creates, maintains and presents project plans (detailed schedules) as it relates to their development team with overall knowledge of enterprise priorities.
Collaborates with software and IT engineering architects, graphic designers, and single or cross functional development teams.
Works effectively with a development team while still working independently to meet deadlines.
Assists in the business process design or redesign and documentation as needed.
Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications and manages changes to such specifications.
Facilitates communication and gains commitment between technical partners to align solutions with software architectural and development strategies.
Develops/Defines software test case scenarios based on architectural and development strategy.
Works on multiple projects as a project team member, at times as a project leader.
May coach and mentor less experienced staff.
Models systems and data to a logical level, user interface design, and prototyping, decision tables/trees, data flows
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Advanced knowledge of technology system interfaces and data integration, networks, operating systems
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people (even if you are a non-technical person)
Good interpersonal and consultative skills
Analytical thinking and problem solving
Strong attention to detail and committed to a high level of accuracy
Knowledge of industry best practice for business analysis
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Advanced training on elicitation and elaboration of requirements from a verified source, and demonstration of using these skills to provide elicitation and elaboration of requirements
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with JIRA Confluence, General understanding of and experience with both Agile and traditional project management
Skills in MS Project and Visio
Technical knowledge of software development life cycle
CSM certification
