Account Executive: This is where you come in.
We’re seeking an Account Executive to showcase the full range of MacDonald-Miller's capabilities, with a focus on selling building control systems to architects, MEP consultants, and construction contractors in the Western Washington commercial market. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in developing retrofit and bid proposals, specifications, and detailed estimates for building control systems. Additionally, you'll be responsible for ensuring the quality and value of our services to maintain high client satisfaction. - Guide and support engineers, estimators, project managers, and field personnel throughout project phases.
- Collaborate with staff and customers at all stages of projects.
- Strengthen internal relationships across departments to foster seamless integration.
Customer Base
- Sustain and enhance relationships with existing customers.
- Increase sales volume and profit margins while ensuring the company can effectively deliver on commitments.
- Develop and acquire new customer accounts.
Marketing and Sales
- Identify, secure, and negotiate new contracts.
- Advocate for and promote the company’s value engineering and comprehensive service offerings as a full-service mechanical contractor.
The Account Executive reports to George Pfeiffer, Director of Building Controls. This role demands a leader who is visionary, an exceptional communicator, detail-oriented, and possesses strong business acumen.
You will be expected to:
- Lead and motivate a collaborative team across diverse projects and initiatives to support our growing business.
- Interact with all levels and functions within the organization, making this a highly visible and influential role.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals to both new and existing customers, driving profitable outcomes.
- Develop and execute strategies to maximize sales opportunities in your assigned geographic or vertical market, while effectively partnering with both internal and external stakeholders.
Your Background: What kind of person will thrive in this role?
- A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or mechanical engineering (preferred).
- A proven track record in negotiating sales, achieving profit margins, and managing commitments successfully.
- A practical understanding of mechanical systems and a strong focus on customer service.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in selling or hands-on field experience with installing Building Controls within the Plan & Spec or Retrofit market.
- Excellent verbal, written, listening, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build constructive and effective relationships with customers, engineering teams, project managers, office personnel, and field staff.
- Demonstrated success in developing strategies to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities.

Benefits
Compensation: Base salary of $90,000 annually, plus commissions and vehicle compensation.
