Media.Monks is looking for a tech-savvy Sr. Copywriter to conceptualize, write, pitch, and produce work for one of our biggest global clients. 

In this role, you’ll lead and drive copy in individual projects, partnering with UI and UX designers, creative directors, strategists, producers, animators, and other writers in a variety of assignments, including app and web design, live-action and animated video, and creative pitches, among other projects. Although you will be primarily responsible for copywriting and scripting, you will be expected to be conversant in audiovisual storytelling and user experience. 

We’re looking for someone who is skilled at communicating complicated concepts in simple terms for end users, and who can work comfortably either on their own or as part of a team. If you have a background in crafting concise, compelling, and understandable digital content, you’re a match for this role.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Understand the client’s tone of voice and ensure all content successfully expresses the brand identity.
  • Work besides the UI and UX teams to craft compelling, empathetic, and friendly user experiences for both web and mobile.
  • Think in terms of visual storytelling to write scripts for explainer videos, animated sequences, interactive tutorials, and other assets.
  • Ensure copy is well-crafted, concise, engaging, and consistent across all deliverables.
  • Lead the copy conversation with clients and proactively respond to feedback.
  • Communicate constantly and clearly with all internal teams.
  • Present and defend your ideas both internally and in front of the client.
  • Wield words, wisdom, and wit on behalf of our client, who looks to us for direct partnership and creative production.
  • Build client relationships with moxie, aplomb, and humanity.
  • Explore ways to help the client beyond the immediate scope and think strategically about their bigger needs.

Requirements

  • You have a native-level grasp of both written and spoken English.
  • You have 4+ years professional writing experience in marketing, UX, journalism, or related fields.
  • You’re a master of words but also think beyond the words, understanding how copy functions in apps, websites, videos, immersive experiences, and other digital or experiential contexts.
  • You can share a strong portfolio showcasing your English-language work across multiple formats (digital, video, social, etc.).
  • You have experience writing within brand voice, tone, and style guides, ensuring consistent language across multiple touchpoints.
  • You are a detail-oriented and organized person who never misses a deadline, a dangling participle, or an Oxford comma.
  • You have an ability to adapt quickly, compromise when necessary, and follow editorial leads with equal confidence and humility.
  • You demonstrate communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • You work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment, both in office and remotely.
  • You’re able to clearly communicate concepts through mocks and decks when pitching work to stakeholders and directors.
  • You can work under the pressure of tight deadlines, changing priorities, and quick turns to keep content fresh.
