What You’ll Do:
- Deliver structured, hands-on, and classroom training to apprentice linemen as they progress from Apprentice Lineman 1 to Journeyman Lineman.
- Evaluate apprentices’ skills and performance, ensuring they meet industry and company benchmarks.
- Provide real-time coaching and supervision during field activities to reinforce best practices and safety protocols.
- Emphasize and enforce electrical safety standards, OSHA regulations, and EnergyUnited’s safety procedures.
- Develop and implement technical training programs for experienced field operations employees, keeping them up to date with evolving industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of training progress, performance evaluations, certifications, and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with management and crew leaders to continuously improve training programs and ensure alignment with operational needs.
- Conduct safety audits, crew visits, and participate in regional safety meetings.
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree in electrical technology or a related field is preferred.
- At least seven years of experience in distribution and/or transmission construction.
- Previous experience in training, mentoring, or supervising apprentice linemen is strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of electric power line construction, both overhead and underground, as well as familiarity with RUS construction specifications, NESC, and electric metering.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, tablets, and industry-specific technology.
- Valid North Carolina Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
What to Expect:
- Work will be split between office and field-based environments.
- Regular outdoor work in various weather conditions and terrain.
- Climbing, lifting heavy equipment, and operating machinery will be required.
- Some overtime and availability during adverse weather conditions will be necessary.
- Must reside within EnergyUnited’s service area or within a 40-mile radius of any EnergyUnited office.
