How do we do this?

We have built a multi-entity, multi-year tax planning software utilized by business owners who are looking to figure out a way to stop overpaying in taxes every single year. 

Our software addresses two critical challenges:

What has been the AI impact on our business?

Our business has completely transformed what we thought was possible as of Open AI's Dev Day back in November 2023. 

What we have noticed is that there are 4 types of companies who use AI at this point:

1. Have no idea what AI is, or worse, decide it's just a fad
2. Playing around with AI here and there
3. Decide to invest in AI, and put it in the product
4. Decide to invest in AI, put it in the product AND use it inside of internal processes

We've leaned in hard to being #4. We are not only putting AI at the center of our products (check out instead.com) but we also use AI to develop our software internally which is used by every team member at our company. 

Your day to day

As a Senior Software Engineer at our innovative tax startup, you'll be joining a fun-loving group of in-office engineers, product and tax professionals who love to collaborate, laugh, and occasionally engage in a fierce ping pong match. While the rest of our team works remotely, our office crew thrives on in-person synergy and innovation.

Here's a glimpse of what day-to-day will look like here:

• Rapidly build and iterate on new features for our external and internal apps using AI whenever and wherever possible. 
• Seamlessly transition from Tailwind CSS styling to solving complex problems in JavaScript, navigating data architectures and collaborating with our backend team. 
• Partner with our brilliant team of development and tax engineers to revolutionize the industry. 
• As you settle in, you’ll have the chance to grow the front-end team and turbocharge our development efforts.

• In addition, we are heavily utilizing LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) in both product and internal development. 

What we hope you'll bring to the team

• 2+ years of JS development experience
• Can crush HTML & CSS
• Super nice to have would be knowledge in developing SPAs with Vue.js
• Comfortable with Git
• Experience in interacting with REST APIs
• Wants the user experience to feel "fluid"
• Likes to solve hard problems, together
