Product Sustainability Associate:
Reformation is looking for an all-star Associate, Product Sustainability who will support our Product Sustainability programming. In your role, you will support advancing our work in the areas of supply chain traceability, better materials and chemical management. You will work with internal and external supply chain partners to ensure progress on our material environmental and resource efficiency goals. You will help evolve programs and processes for effective implementation to ensure best in class programs for Reformation’s partners globally.
Responsibilities:
Chemical Management
- Conduct RSL risk assessments and manage SMART testing (including scoring, results and analysis, and internal communication; provide suggestions to improve program rollout
Raw Material Traceability
- Engage with suppliers at various stages of the supply chain to map material flows, collect data, and validate information through document verification and on-site assessments
- Maintain & improve data collection methods and KPI tracking for current and new materials to ensure alignment with our better materials targets.
- Refine internal procedures to support compliance with evolving regulatory and customer requirements related to traceability and upstream supply chain visibility
- Support accurate product claims and provide inputs for reporting (e.g., wholesale) through robust data management of Reformation’s material library, material certifications
- Manage database of Reformation’s material certifications and ensure records are maintained & updated regularly with inputs from cross-functional teams and suppliers & vendors
- Conduct deadstock approvals and reconciliation and manage data collection & reporting
- Support material sustainability data management system transition; contribute to SOPs and guidance materials for external partners as necessary
- Provide inputs for internal and/or external reporting for multi stakeholder initiatives (e.g., Cascale, Textile Exchange, etc.)
Chain of Custody
- Collaborate with Purchasing and Sourcing teams to vet purchase orders, coordinate collection of transaction certificates for certified materials/goods, and support timely reporting for chain of custody claims
- Manage reconciliation of transaction certificates, including data management and compliance with certification standards
Resource Efficiency
- Provide coordination support for supply chain resource efficiency programs including but not limited to Higg Facility Environmental Module (FEM) self-assessments and audit scheduling.
- Support FEM analysis and related recommendations for RefScale and/or program
Data Management & Reporting
- Assist in the collection and management of data for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) associated with Clean Chemistry and Traceability
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to maintain and update the Vendor Scorecard
- Support the Sustainability Reporting Manager in conducting the annual Supply Chain Analysis
- Support FEM analysis and related recommendations for RefScale and/or program
- Perform monthly data accuracy and gap analysis for PIM and Quickbase systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve identified issues
What you'll need:
- BA or Master’s ideally with focus in environmental studies or sustainability
- 2-5 years of work experience in supply chain management, traceability, compliance and/or environmental sustainability ideally in the fashion industry
- Advanced Proficiency in MS Office/other spreadsheet, database management, and willingness to learn new supply chain/traceability software and data management tools (e.g., Airtable, Quickbase, PLM).
- Excellent communication skills with geographically & culturally diverse colleagues and supply chain partners
- Self-motivation and self-starter skills, proactive, and able to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and follow through on deadlines/projects while simultaneously maintaining a high attention to detail
- Bilingual (Spanish/Mandarin/Turkish/Portuguese) is a plus
- Willingness to keep abreast of new developments in the field and commitment to learn new concepts and industry best practices within a fast-paced environment
- Awareness/understanding of environmental sustainability & chain of custody certifications and/or a willingness to develop an expertise in textile related certifications.
