The Purpose:

As a provider of globally competitive payment services, we are looking for a passionate, high-performing professional to join our team in Sydney. As a Risk and Compliance Manager supporting our Risk Transformation Program (RTP), you will play a pivotal role in helping us safeguard the operations of Australia’s payments network. You will be a member of a dedicated team responsible for driving the development, implementation and embedment of key risk and compliance management strategies, frameworks and processes across a range of risk categories.

 

We’re a relatively small organisation with a flat structure, so this role will be hands on. This will involve day-to-day delivery to progress the program deliverables, collaborating across functions to ensure stakeholders are appropriately engaged, consulted and supported through change and helping to define what good risk management practices look like for an organisation of our size and complexity.

 This role is a 12 months fixed term contract opportunity

 

Responsibilities of the role will cover the following key areas:

  • Support program Stream Leads with the development of risk and compliance processes, procedures, frameworks and their interface with the newly implemented GRC system.
  • Reference reviews, audits and other assessments of existing artefacts and confirm revised drafts have addressed all gaps and agreed recommendations. 
  • Collaborate with RTP colleagues working on the implementation of relevant regulation (CPS 230, SOCI, PFMI) and confirm approach is consistent across all procedures.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with RTP team members and relevant stakeholders to plan the implementation of revised procedures, and support AP+ Group Risk to embed into the business.
  • Support Program Stream Leads to monitor on progress and flag any risks and issues relating to delivery, and any opportunities to minimise duplication and inefficiency.
  • Provide support to internal working groups established to support your work stream.

 

The skills & knowledge you need to have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk or audit disciplines which may include, operational risk, third party oversight risk, business continuity management and/or crisis management.
  • Experience in the financial services industry, preferably working with smaller organisations similar to AP+.
  • Experience conducting reviews and assessments to identify gaps and formulate appropriate and pragmatic solutions.
  • Interest in developing your payments knowledge through partnering with the business to understand business processes, systems and infrastructure and enhance recovery strategies.
  • Experience developing and implementing third party risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures within a complex environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and rapport with stakeholders.
  • Strong organisation skills and proven ability to prioritise and manage deliverables.
  • An ability to apply critical thinking, solve problems and provide pragmatic solutions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • A collaborative mindset to deliver positive and high-quality outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
  • An understanding of regulatory requirements related to Australian payments industry, incl. but not limited to CPS 230, SOCI and PFMI
