We are seeking a Product Manager to join our product team and help us achieve that mission.
In this role, you will join a team of dedicated product managers to work with our partners in design, engineering, content and business to serve our customer: the MLB fan. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Product, you will help to develop and execute the product strategy for MLB’s flagship product, the MLB App on both iOS and Android. The MLB App is used by millions of fans each day to follow their favorite teams and players, get real time updates and engage with the sport of baseball through exclusive MLB content.
Our ideal Product Manager knows and has experience with the best practices of modern product development, loves to iterate on user experience and has worked on a product that publishes a wide variety of content types.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
3+ years of experience as a product manager supporting one or more consumer-facing products – experience with native apps (iOS and/or Android) is a big plus
A strong portfolio of shipped products that show a data-inspired strategy and analytics influenced decision making
Experience in using quantitative and qualitative data to identify opportunities and to measure success
Are comfortable working with ambiguity and helping to define new ways of working
Possess an appreciation for baseball and a firm comprehension of its history, rules, and culture
Passion for visual design and great user experience and an understanding of information architecture
An understanding of software engineering ecosystems and related technologies such as REST API’s, Push Notification Services, oAuth, JSON and front end tech
A critical thinker with strong written, verbal and storytelling skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work directly with fans and stakeholders to understand their needs and how we can deliver great experiences for them
Create detailed technical requirements ready for development
Define key performance indicators for product features and actively analyze data and customer feedback
Design and deploy experiments to discover the best solutions for fans
Work with key stakeholders to prioritize requirements from competing business interests and build consensus
Balance between product ideation and execution, with a “fail fast” mentality and flexibility as we pursue innovative experiences for our fans
Effectively support the product design, engineering and test engineering teams throughout sprint cycles by proactively removing roadblocks and anticipating challenges
Build and manage relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders, including technology leaders, marketing teams, ad operations, sponsorship sales, external vendors and executives
Keep a pulse on the sports, media, and entertainment best practices and trends, to create best-in-class products
