We're seeking an experienced, collaborative, and self-motivated Director whose career has an emphasis in PR and Entertainment to work daily with clients, and in conjunction with specialized internal teams.  The ideal candidate will be an extended leadership member of the team who is ambitious, results-oriented, curious and willing to contribute to the overall agency's success. The candidate will have a proven management track record with developing star performers and building strong teams. This candidate loves and is passionate about all elements within Culture and entertainment - film, tv, original content, music, talent, Awards and more.

An ideal candidate will be a solution-oriented professional who is able to oversee and drive multiple campaigns at one time and effectively communicate to clients, stakeholders and team members. 

The PR Director will be instrumental in contributing to the agency’s Corporate Communications strategy and new business initiatives. The candidate will be responsible for helping to create and execute innovative PR programs to create innovative real media results. This candidate also has deep media relationships with National, Culture, multicultural, Hispanic, and industry press and understands how to create positioning, stories and narratives for clients.

  • Determine KPI goals for all client campaigns and create strategies 
  • Organized and able to guide the team to work efficiently across accounts
  • Desire to grow team members professionally and develop key team members 
  • Work with senior leaders and account leads on budgets and team resources
  • Experienced at winning new clients, developing new business pitches and pitching prospective clients 
  • Business acumen with the ability to communicate across departments and represent PR at a Leadership level
  • Create and execute strategic PR campaigns targeting audiences that affect drive and positively affect culture
  • Utilize trends in PR, marketing and culture to impact traditional PR and multi-faceted campaigns
  • Work closely with the social media and marketing teams to develop and execute cross-functional campaign strategy
  • Secure media results for clients on a daily basis
  • Proven track record of traditional and social publicity results on behalf of clients
  • Ability to lead team and client initiatives and identify potential issues and troubleshoot
  • Work with executive/leadership staff on identifying new business opportunities for the agency
  • Secure media and conference/speaking opportunities for the agency as part of the Corporate Communications initiative
  • Cultivate media and partnership relationships with national, lifestyle, consumer, Culture and multicultural press


Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years progressive Public Relations experience
  • Minimum of 5 years managing and mentoring junior team members 
  • Strong understanding of culture-changing trends and media 
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized and the ability to easily multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Has strong top tier media relationship and ability to build positive and engaging relationships with media (print, broadcast, online, blogs, consumer, mainstream, culture, multicultural and trade press)  
  • Client-focused, with strong client relations skills 
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills 
  • Extensive knowledge of current trends, lifestyle brands, digital and industry influencers to incorporate into media strategies
  • Social media savvy with an understanding of emerging platforms and technology      
  • Forward-thinker, who is constantly looking for new ways to promote and enhance client campaigns    
  • Strong team player and also an independent thinker who can take initiative on their own  
  • A diverse roster of previous PR client work, touching on the areas of lifestyle, consumer, corporate communications
  • Strong knowledge of the PR field including experience in media relations, press campaign development, and execution of creative and strategic communication plans.  
  • Existing relationships with media, including both traditional and non-traditional outlets, including niche blogs and influencers
  • Excellent networking ability
  • Must understand digital and new media platforms and how to translate knowledge into creating transmedia campaigns for all clients
  • Ability to work under pressure in time-sensitive environments on multiple clients accounts simultaneously
  • Strong proficiency Google Suite (Calendar, Sheets, Slides, Gmail)
