Architectural Metals Designer (Drafter)

TSC, a Division of Flynn Group of Companies, is seeking experienced drafters for their Architectural Metals Designer position. The successful individual will draft and design complex architectural panels using the most advanced 3D Technology.

A Day in the Life:
-Design and develop detailed drawings of Flynn metal panel systems for architectural approval, shop fabrication & field installation, using AutoCAD, Rhino or similar software.
-Create shop drawing elevations as required for architectural proposals based on Flynn systems or other supplier’s products in either metric or imperial.
-Develop shop drawing details based on building science and the rainscreen principle.
-Incorporate engineering instructions and sketches into our set of shop drawings.
-Produce packages of fabrication drawings for panels, breakshapes and other required materials, as required.
-Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, estimates, and related data to assess factors affecting design, fabrication or construction procedures.
-Coordinate and consult with peers to design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve design issues.
-Modify and revise designs to correct deficiencies or incorporate instructions and comments into drawing sets .
-Maintain organization within the existing drawing database.
-Other duties as required
What You Bring:
-1 year of designing/drafting experience with metal cladding systems; new grads also welcome to apply.
-Graduate of an Architectural or Architectural Technology Program.
-Experience working in the Total Building Envelope Industry considered an asset.
-Strong computer skills in AutoCAD and MS Office.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Able to demonstrate eagerness to learn and overcome challenges.
