SunSource, headquartered in Addison, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago), is one of North America’s leading fluid power distribution companies, providing products, services and information in hydraulics, pneumatics, automation, and fluid process serving both the industrial, OEM, MRO, and mobile equipment markets. We are currently looking for a Service & RepairBuyer to join the procurement team and learn purchasing and inventory control within our Mobile Service & Repair business unit located in Savage, MN.
Reporting to the Supply Chain & Inventory Manager, you must specifically be able to:
· Assist in the execution of procurement processes to maximize customer on-time delivery while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
· Regularly maintain Trend inventory master and warehouse records to include, but not limited to the following:
o Making decisions on what to stock and what not to
o Insuring goal inventory turns are met
o Managing order fill rate, and minimizing stock-outs
o Properly applying safety stock levels when/where necessary
o Insuring supplier lead time accuracy
o Updating cost records, and managing costs to improve profit
o Review of system frozen records, for needed corrections to the Buyer set up of inventory records.
· Communicate to suppliers and execute supply chain management per SunSource “Best Practices” and buyer expectations document.
· Process supplier returns/credits for defective, obsolete, and excess materials where appropriate.
· Proactively manage excess and obsolete material in a team environment
· Serve as conduit for communication between SunSource and Supplier.
· Schedule and organize cadence/escalation meetings as needed.
· Engage in instructor/self-guided training to obtain/refresh skills.
· Support sales with questions pertaining to product availability, pricing, alternate sources, etc.
· All other duties as assigned by manager.
The qualified individual will have the following skills and experience:
Education – High School Diploma, some college or college degree preferred.
Experience - Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.
Skills – Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Able to operate typical equipment found in an office environment including computers and phones. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office fluency including Excel and Outlook. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to learn complex processes quickly.
Physical Requirements – Work involves sitting most of the workday or more than 50% of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally. Must be able to use PPE as required.
