Back-Up Care (BUC) Nanny Position at Jovie- A Bright Horizons Company
As a Back-Up Care Nanny, you’ll play a crucial role in providing reliable and flexible childcare support. Here are the key details:
What you get!
- Weekly Steady Paycheck - $25-$27/hr
- All new hires are eligible for a $250 bonus based on the following criteria- successfully staff and work a total of 6 cases in the first 2 weeks of employment with great survey results.

- Assurance – We screen and vet each family looking for childcare
What This Job Looks Like:- Engage - Care for children between ages six weeks and 13 years (based on your experience)
- Play – Have fun with age-appropriate games, crafts, and activities while you’re with the kids
- Safety - Ensure the safety and well-being of children in your care
- Meal Prep – Put together meals and snacks for children during your time with them
- Light Clean-up - Restore the kitchen and play areas after food and fun (with age-appropriate assistance from the kids)
- Variety - Work with and meet many different parents and kids as a sitter
Ideal Nanny
Work Schedule:- You’ll have open availability Monday through Friday.
- Your hours will fall between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
Note that this doesn’t mean you’ll work the entire 12-hour shift; your earliest start time will be 7:00 AM, and your latest end time will be 7:00 PM.
Availability:- Initially, you’ll need to be available anytime within the 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM window.
- Flexibility is essential, as you may be called upon for last-minute care.
Shift Duration:- Most shifts are 8 hours, although you must be comfortable working 4-6 hour shifts.
Booking System:- We use a smartphone app for scheduling.
- Caregivers input their availability in advance.
- Our vetted Families can book your services through the app.
Last-Minute Care:- Be prepared for same-day bookings at times.
If you’re available and have open slots, families may book you just 4 hours before the scheduled care.
Flexibility:- Adaptability is key.
- You’ll work with different families, potentially each day.
However, there is also a chance to build relationships with repeat families who may request you back.
Additional Qualifications
Nannies must pass state and company background checks. Experience and educational requirements include:- At least 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated experience working with children.
- Reliable transportation and cell phone
- As per California State Requirements for childcare in-home providers- all candidates will be required to complete the Trustline BGC-more information upon offer (cost be will at the expense of Jovie, a Bright Horizons Company)
