Position Summary: The phlebotomist is responsible for the collection of quality biological specimens for laboratory testing, distribution of specimens to proper departments, and proper preparation of specimens for laboratory analysis.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Requires the completion of a formal phlebotomy program that includes both classroom and practical (on-the-job) experience or has equivalent education or experience.
Communication, customer service, and organizational skills required. Knowledge of specimen integrity guidelines; laboratory test and medical terminology; current laboratory policies, procedures, and protocols preferred.
Must maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to drive when required for hospital business. In order to drive the company vehicle, must be eligible under the hospital insurance guidelines.
