Senior Software Engineer (Android)

Toast is looking for a Senior Android Software Engineer to join our Permissions & Access Experience team in Dublin. The Permissions & Access Experience team will define, design and deliver the experiences by which employees, restaurateurs, guests and others access the Toast platform and use our entire ecosystem of products, from POS to Payroll, in the US and internationally. 

Partnering with stakeholders, product managers, product designers, and other engineers, you will be part of a team developing best-in-class solutions that create a unified, seamless experience that meets our standard for customer delight, ease of use, security, and scalability. 

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain highly resilient and scalable features across Toast’s enterprise management products; Hands-on design and implementation of Android applications in Java or Kotlin
• Lead complex projects that improve functionality and reliability for our customers 
• Partner with a wide array of teams across Toast 
• Taking ownership of the Android system
• Ensure quality by building automated testing for changes
• Roll* features out to customers, including monitoring for success
• Collaborate with UX and PM on the definition and design of features  
• Mentor and coach other engineers

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

• 5+ years prior experience developing and maintaining Android applications
• Proficient in Java or other object oriented language
• Experience building backend services and APIs is a plus.
• Empathy for users, both internal (other Toast teams) and external (our restaurants)
• Enjoys working in a team environment with a shared code-base
• Excellent cross-team communication skills on complex technical topics
