PPNNE is looking for highly motivated, responsible, and organized person to work directly with the CEO and VPs of Public Affairs in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont to organize and coordinate the three states Action Fund Boards and related Political Action Committees and manage the compliance required for advocacy and direct lobbying and electoral activities. Under the direction of the VPs of Public Affairs, assist in coordination of the PPNNE Board, Executive and Management Team. At the request of the VPs, the coordinator acts as a project manager for special research and projects, working both independently and/or with inter-departmental work teams.

This role is full time, Exempt and hybrid remote and in person. Can be based in VT, ME or NH.

Characteristic Responsibilities

  • Builds strong relationships with PPNNE, Action Fund and PAC Board members.
  • Strives to maximize Board and Committee member satisfaction
  • Manages and organizes Board and PAC meetings schedules, agendas, recording of minutes and reports to the three state boards
  • Assists CEO and VPs in the management and organization of the PPNNE Board, Executive Affairs and Management Team, including Executive and Board Compliance Committee meetings
  • Works with CEO and VPs on Board management strategies to ensure Trustees and Board members are competent and informed on the status of PPNNE and ancillary organizations
  • Ensures Planned Parenthood Action Fund and PACs are in compliance with state election law.
  • Facilitates regular communication and updates to the respective boards on public affairs activities
  • Works with President/CEO, Board Chair and VPs of Public Affairs to create a comprehensive AF and PAC Board orientation for new board members
  • Works with President/CEO, Board Chair and VPs of Public Affairs to ensure that a diverse group of perspectives are represented on the Action Funds and PAC’s
  • Manages compliance associated with advocacy including direct and grassroots lobby including satisfying each states’ legal requirements
  • Manages compliance related to electoral activity conducted by the AF Boards and PACs including staying up to date in changes to election law
  • Supports VPs of Public Affairs as directed including establishing and managing structures/processes including scheduling, logistics and meeting management
  • Supports VPs of Public Affairs in grant and budget management, including management of contracts, agreements, and legal reviews
  • Be flexible in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment and demonstrate a commitment to jumping in to support the Public Affairs teams
  • Make decisions and using professional discretion and judgement in developing work plans and adjusting to new circumstances while representing and speaking for the organization with organizational leaders.
  • Actively participate in electoral campaigns, supporting the election of endorsed candidates through coordinated or independent expenditure activities.
  • Assist with chief of staff duties as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Able to travel throughout the three states
  • Some nights and weekends may be required

Qualifications:

  • Three years to five years of relevant experience in business administration, legal or accounting fields; or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skill have been acquired
  • Ideal candidates will have experience working with people from diverse ethnic, linguistic, socioeconomic and cultural communities, as well as a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and the intersection with health and social justice
  • Understanding of compliance and election law or comparable experience preferred
  • Flexibility, initiative, creative thinking and a willingness to learn required
  • High level attention to detail, organizational skills and time management
  • Commitment to customer service and satisfaction
  • Commitment to a team orientation
  • Computer literacy. Experiences with data bases essential
  • Understanding of the state’s legislative political process
  • Demonstrated group facilitation and leadership skills
  • Familiarity and comfort level with all the services provided by PPNNE
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Ability to sit for up to 6 hours a day, and keystroke for up to 5 hours
  • Ability to operate all typical office equipment
  • Driver’s License and access to a car
  • Must reside in Maine, New Hampshire, or Vermont and work in office at least part-time
  • Ability to travel

Compensation & Benefits :

  • The range of pay for this position is 55,789.50/ yr - $ 81,295.50 / yr based on years of experience.  Access to benefits are available including health, dental, vision insurance, paid time off and retirement fund.
