<p><strong>The Simulation t</strong><strong>eam</strong> of Helsinki-based <strong>Device Concept Lab</strong> is seeking an intern to contribute in the development of simulation methods for development of wearable devices, such as smart watches, focusing on the effects of vascular hemodynamics.</p><p><strong>Main Tasks:</strong></p><ul><li>Responsible for exploring the current state of the art and documenting.</li><li>Responsible for creating a development plan.</li><li>Contributing to the development of a vascular hemodynamics model.</li></ul><ul></ul><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>PhD student with background in computer science, mathematics, physics, and biomedical engineering with demonstrated proficiency in:<br>a) Computational fluid dynamics<br>b) Finite Element Methods<br>c) Lumped Parameter Models<br></li><li>Experience in biomechanical and CFD models.</li><li>Proficiency in the programming languages: Matlab, C/C++ or Python.</li><li>Fluent in written and spoken English.</li></ul><p><strong>It is a plus</strong> if you have the following skills or experiences:</p><ul><li>Applicants with track record in publishing at prestigious journals are prioritized.</li><li>Knowledge about human hemodynamics, the physiological signals such as optical signals including photoplethysmography (PPG), machine learning, medical imaging and light-tissue interaction is considered advantageous.</li></ul><p><strong>Starting time: </strong>May 2024</p><p><strong>Internship period:</strong> 3-6 months</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Ruoholahti, Helsinki or Hervanta, Tampere</p><p>Huawei offers an opportunity to learn from the best in the mobile industry.
