The Head of Merchants will be responsible for overseeing and driving the merchant acquisition strategy for mylo across all regions in Egypt. This role will involve developing and executing effective strategies to attract and onboard new merchants, while maintaining strong relationships with existing ones. The Head of Merchants will also lead and mentor a team of merchant acquisition managers to ensure their success and contribute to the overall growth of the business.

Requirements

  • Devise and implement effective strategies for acquiring merchants and achieving growth targets in all regions of Egypt.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with potential merchants, understanding their business requirements and providing customized solutions.
  • Create compelling sales presentations for merchants, highlighting the benefits of our fintech products and services.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with merchants to establish mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Oversee the entire process of onboarding merchants, including documentation, compliance checks, and system integration.
  • Manage existing merchant relationships, offering ongoing support and addressing any inquiries.
  • Perform market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and stay abreast of industry trends.
  • Lead and mentor a team of merchant acquisition managers, ensuring their performance and development.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Sharia principles throughout the merchant acquisition process.
  • Recruit and onboard new team members, assign tasks and delegate responsibilities, monitor team performance, resolve conflicts, and set and track goals.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, develop training programs, provide mentorship, and facilitate teamwork.
  • Report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of mylo, providing regular updates on merchant acquisition progress, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in merchant acquisition, sales, or business development in the fintech or payments industry is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of the Egyptian market and its business landscape.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using CRM and sales enablement tools.
  • Knowledge of Sharia principles and their application in the fintech industry.

Additional Requirements

  • Fluency in Arabic and English.
  • Willingness to travel within Egypt.
  • A passion for fintech and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
