Visual Designer (6 months contract)

Summary of Job 
Working in our AutoTrader Media business unit, the freelance Visual Designer would be a member of the Branded Content team. Working closely with the Creative Director and Sr. Visual Designer to deliver branded content program design assets for both the AutoTrader brand and our partners. The Visual Designer is responsible for the execution of visual elements for branded content campaigns which include but are not limited to: UI Design, Display Ad creative, HD Mockups, and web design components.
 
Key Areas of Responsibility
 
Content Creation and Graphic Design:
·       Designing Branded Content: Creating visual assets for branded content, including social media graphics, web banners, and infographics.
·       Illustrations and Icons: Developing custom illustrations and icons to support content and enhance visual storytelling.
·       Photo Editing: Retouching and editing photos to align with brand aesthetics and content requirements.
 
Collaboration and Communication:
·       Working with Teams: Collaborating with writers, marketers, and other designers to ensure visual content aligns with brand guidelines and campaign goals.
·       Client Interactions: Assisting in client meetings and presentations to discuss visual concepts and gather feedback.
·       Feedback Integration: Incorporating feedback from senior designers, editors, and clients into design revisions.
 
Brand Consistency and Guidelines:
·       Adhering to Brand Guidelines: Ensuring all visual content adheres to the established brand guidelines and maintains consistency across different platforms.
·       Updating Style Guides: Assisting in updating and maintaining internal style guides and design templates.
 
Research and Trend Analysis:
·       Market Research: Conducting research on industry trends, competitor visuals, and emerging design techniques to inform and inspire design work.
·       Trend Application: Applying current design trends and best practices to create modern and engaging visuals that resonate with the target audience.
 
Job Requirements 
 
Education, Experience and Technical skills
·       Pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field
·       1 – 3 years of Graphic Design / Art Direction Experience
·       Proficient in adobe Creative Suite
·       Knowledgeable of Web Development languages HTML5, JS and CSS
 
Required Soft Skills and Competencies
·       Ability to adhere to visual design guidelines quality libraries to support a consistent design
·       Fluency in design and prototyping tool
·       Solid knowledge of web, mobile and interactive design principles including layout, grid systems, information design and typography
·       A dazzling online portfolio
·       Experience in design preferably delivering in products or services
·       Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
·       Motion Design, Illustration and animation skills are a plus
