BMNT is a specialized consultancy that helps the government build and run innovation programs. BMNT was founded in Silicon Valley and brings startup and product design methodologies to government problems. We don’t do innovation theater – we’re a team of expert practitioners in Lean Innovation and Human-Centered Design who apply these skills to hack bureaucracy and deploy tangible solutions.
Location: This is a Hybrid position in Arlington, VA with the expectation of being in the office or client site two to three days per week. Weeks with in-person engagements may require more time in the office or travel to other sites in the DC Area.
About the Role:
Senior Analysts play an integral role in the consultative process that forms the basis for everything we do for our customers, and they drive various aspects and key decision points within the project lifecycle, including planning facilitated workshops and product development. A significant portion of the Senior Analyst role is to oversee problem curation — a specialized tradecraft developed by BMNT to help our customers validate problems worth spending time, energy, and resources to solve — and how it fits into the broader system of innovation at BMNT. A high-performing Senior Analyst will therefore demonstrate expertise in everything we do at BMNT, and is able to effectively communicate BMNT’s competitive advantage in order to build credibility and trust with our customers.
What You Will Be Doing (Responsibilities):
- Managing workflow and delegating tasks across Program teams to ensure timely completion;
- Identifying secondary and tertiary problems and opportunities that BMNT could address for customers;
- Establishing strong relationships with customers through developing a positive connection and trust with customers and demonstrates credibility to them;
- Leading customer meetings and phone calls, including the ability to answer in-depth questions about BMNT methodologies;
- Quickly understands the scope and root of a problem, synthesizes and analyzes data, and presents findings in a clear, succinct, and polished manner;
- Leading elements of the customer relationship, including setting agendas and closing-out activities or action items;
- Independently resolve issues as they arise;
- Conducting independent research and developing project plans that reflect customer needs and the ability to enlist the help from other team members;
- Providing guidance, motivation, support, and role modeling to fellow Analysts;
- Executes problem curation to a high standard with little or no supervision;
- Balances deadlines with personal priorities;
- Writes well, with very little correction needed from others;
- Exhibiting respectful behavior and following company policies. Models the desired behaviors of a successful contributor at BMNT, as explained in the Employee Handbook.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications):
- Passion and excitement for BMNT’s mission and desire to make an impact. The work we do is bigger than any of us.
- Consulting Experience: at least four to five years of consulting work experience or two years as a BMNT analyst.
- Attention to Detail. Able to think through logistics and manage quality control with the ability to manage and prioritize many concurrent tasks.
- Creative Thinking. Capitalizes on the opportunity to develop original ideas, create streamlined processes, implement new solutions, and innovate.
- Deeply curious: You are a project-based learner and research the problem space before making implementation decisions but are also capable of coming up with novel solutions.
- Collaborative Communication Skills. You have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate and present in both large and small group settings.
- Tech Savvy: Ability to quickly absorb new technical concepts and think analytically about them. You are adept at translating technical ideas to a non-technical team and approach desired project outcomes with optimism.
- Growth Mindset. Passion for continuous learning and commitment to self-awareness, including proactively seeking and welcoming constructive feedback. Investigating and learning new things that foster innovation, productivity, agility, and collaboration across your work.
