Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
We are seeking a Manager, Retail Labour & Workforce Planning, on a 15-month contract to lead a team of analysts focused on retail labour planning and support the implementation of workforce management software.
You will ensure our retail labour strategies are data-driven and aligned with our business goals. Your work will help optimize retail labour and the Workforce Management system to enhance store schedules and deliver a best-in-class Guest Experience. This hands-on role requires both strategic oversight and the ability to dive into the data, and a background in forecasting, planning, and retail labour is crucial.
This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. Please note this is a temporary role for 15 months until February 2026.

Retail Strategic Initiatives responsible for driving and delivering global, scalable strategies to attain our business goals. The team is the conduit between the stores and the cross-functional partners, aligning projects and strategies to provide the future of retail to Arc’teryx.
If you were the Manager, Retail Labour & Workforce Planning, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Leading and Managing a Team: Directly manage a team of retail analysts, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
- Labor Management: Develop and optimize a retail labor and scheduling model that allocates labor efficiently to individual stores based on unique attributes and traffic patterns.
- Workforce Planning: Work closely with the Director of People & Culture to plan seasonal and regular headcount needs, ensuring alignment with business forecasts.
- Partner with FP&A in labour budgeting, converting hours to expense, including salary, benefits, bonus and other people costs.
- Workforce Management System Implementation: Play a vital role in implementing a new Workforce Management System, ensuring that the system meets the needs of our retail operations and provides accurate, actionable insights.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Retail Training, Business Intelligence, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication of labor-related insights and strategies.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in labor management processes and data accuracy, including data governance and management.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and models that provide insights into store labour, traffic performance, and sales analysis.
Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
- Project lead to the Workforce Management Implementation, supporting design, user acceptance testing, implementation, and hypercare.
- Developing and implementing advanced forecasting models into the Workforce Management System to optimize demand staffing levels, and improve store operations
- Managing external consultants to build on- and off-floor hours standards; background in engineered labour standards preferred.
- Leading a guest experience and utilization study in North America and Europe to gain insights into the relationship between guest and product guide.
Are you our next Manager, Retail Labour & Workforce Planning?
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail analytics, with a strong understanding of retail operations and customer behaviour
- Experience building and managing a team of analysts with a track record of successful project delivery
- Experience with retail data sources, including point of sale (POS) systems, inventory management systems, and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights in large data sets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building and maintaining relationships at all levels and effectively communicating complex data insights to executives.
- Proactive problem solver with a commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and personal development
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in ambiguous situations
