JOB SUMMARY
Perform a variety of maintenance duties with specialization in general maintenance and repair, preventative maintenance, equipment construction, and installation, to ensure optimal productivity, efficiency, and safe operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Perform mechanic skills including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment/machines.
§ Perform a variety of general maintenance functions in accordance with blueprints, layouts, schematics of circuits and controls, and written or verbal instructions.
§ Duties range from rearrangement of equipment to basic electrical and plumbing maintenance and troubleshooting.
§ Responsible for preventive maintenance of production, equipment, and support equipment.
§ Design and build necessary jigs and fixtures; measure, bend, and cut materials using power cutoff saws, gas torches, metal cutters, and benders.
§ Design, build, repair, and test various types of production equipment within specified time requirements.
§ Responsibilities include requisitioning tools and maintenance parts and supplies; pick-up of parts and supplies; tool issues and repair, etc.
§ Assist the maintenance department in developing Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOP).
§ Perform safety inspections on all equipment systems to ensure safe operating conditions and immediately report any unsafe conditions found.
§ Ensure all maintenance personnel follow all safety rules and processes and act as a safety role model for the maintenance team and company.
§ Provide advice, guidance, and training as necessary.
§ Perform other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
§ High School Diploma or equivalent.
§ Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
§ Technical trade school training of 2 years preferred.
§ Demonstrated and proven ability to maintain and repair plant equipment, systems, machines, tools, and facilities.
§ Extensive experience with various types of hand and power tools.
§ Strong mechanical background for new installations and retrofits, repairs, and upgrades.
§ Excellent and proven ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships in a team environment and ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
§ Ability to read and understand plans and blueprints.
§ Strong ability to be hands-on, work independently, and remain self-motivated with minimal direct supervision.
§ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
§ Demonstrated knowledge of equipment and manufacturing safety procedures (e.g., lockout/tag out, reading MSDS, incident response procedures, etc.).
§ Able to work in a fast-paced cold and wet environment.
§ Able to work extended hours and be flexible with working hours to accommodate business needs.
§ Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
§ Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
§ Standing, bending, kneeling, and crouching for prolonged periods of time.
§ Stand for an 8-hour shift.
§ Work in cold conditions from 38°F to 50°F and hot conditions.
§ Make decisions in a high-stress environment.
§ Work with and around conveyors and other moving equipment.
§ Work at heights.
§ Able to lift 25 to 48 pounds to a minimum height of 36 inches.
§ Operating heavy machinery.
§ Lifting, pushing, pulling, and grasping while standing and kneeling.
§ Able to perform the essential function of the job with or without accommodation.
