In 2021, Samsung announced a new facility in Taylor, Texas, where it plans to invest a minimum $17 billion in the build-out. The site spans 1,200+ acres and the first phase of development will have 4.7 million square feet of floor space consisting of a cluster of semiconductor manufacturing buildings such as a fab, office, parking garage, central utility building, and special utility supply facilities. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Job Summary/Overview:

Seeking a customer-focused Safety Professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assist with identifying risks that support safety programs for one of the most advanced semiconductor facilities in the United States. Opportunity to work as part of a diverse safety team to help strengthen our safety culture and improve hazard elimination for a world leader in manufacturing technology.

Specific Job Duties:

· Ability to anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices during task performance at a semiconductor facility.

· Develop hazard control designs, methods, procedures, and programs; and advise and educate others.

· Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard control elements.

· Evaluation of task performance to ensure compliance with site and regulatory requirements.

· Document and track results to support safety program elements.

· Conduct incident investigations, site inspections, identify root cause, determine corrective actions, and support implementation.

· Conduct employee training for education on site safety requirements.

· Conduct monthly meetings with safety sub-committee.

· Review and audit pre-task plans, site risk analyses and standard operating procedures.

· Assist with the daily management of the tiered auditing program including closure of facility’s preventative and corrective action plans.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools

>1+ years’ experience in Health and Safety performing similar tasks required

Bachelor of Science or MS in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or closely related field

Certification such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc. required or ability to be certified.

Strong communication and presentation skills required

Customer-facing experience preferred
