The Sales Proposal Writer will support the Mid-Market and Enterprise teams in proposal deliverables and leading smaller proposal management efforts including setting schedules, assigning work packages, and coordinating content submission from contributors, as well as final editing and formatting. You will regularly go beyond "copy/paste to play a crucial role in translating technical requirements to business outcomes, and you'll create direct customer communications that support our strong market position and reputation.
Our team has a strong reputation with our internal Sales customers for professionalism and excellence. To deliver on those expectations, you will be well-supported with resources, tools, and teammates, as part of an expert-filled Technical Marketing group.
As a Sales Proposal Writer, you will:
- Navigate our content library to product a baseline response document that is ready for customization and review.
- Complete standard technical training and be able to write customized content with minimal oversight.
- Regularly complete advanced-level responses with minimal oversight.
- Effectively lead strategy discussions with multiple sales teams and demonstrate an understanding of that strategy in customized writing.
- Create compelling and accurate responses for customer RFPs, RFIs, and other formal product functionality assessments.
- Synthesize technical features and customer business information to create content that clearly ties customer business issues and use cases to client solutions.
- Use a variety of tools and resources to understand our products and gather information.
- Collaborate with a broad range of other teams such as product management, product marketing, legal and others to coordinate and verify information.
- Keep up to date on product enhancements, go-to-market strategies, and sales initiatives through scheduled and ad hoc trainings, release notes and documentation.
You are a strong fit for this role if you have:
- At least 3 years of experience in proposal, technical, or content writing required.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in writing, editing, and reviewing government contract proposals is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Communications, or Business Administration is preferred, but relevant technical and proposal writing experience will be considered.
- Technology or software experience preferred
- Preferred experience with sales teams, sales partners or b2b customers
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
