About the role
As a growing drug discovery organisation, we are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, talented individuals keen to carry out their year-long industrial placements beginning in August 2025. These will take place at our facilities located in Nottingham.
As a Pharmacology IP student at Sygnature Discovery, you will work alongside your own personal mentor who will provide practical training and guidance, covering all aspects of the laboratory-based role. Additional training is also provided to help expand your theoretical understanding of topics such as biomarkers in metabolic, CNS and inflammation therapeutic areas as well as analytical techniques (qPCR, MSD, ELISA) and their interpretation. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on real-world internal projects during their time with us, where they will have continual opportunities to develop and apply creative approaches to problem solving.
Your mentor will also stay in regular contact with your academic supervisor to ensure all course requirements for the placement are met.
Key Requirements:
- Enrolled on a Biology or related degree program with a “Year in Industry” component.
- Passionate about Pharmacology and its practical application to drug development.
- Comfortable with basic pipette handling and use of laboratory equipment
- Aware of common techniques such as ELISA or qPCR. Practical experience of these would also be beneficial.
- Equipped with excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work well within a team environment.
