Campaign Management
- Lead the creation and execution of marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including social media, search, email, content marketing, and traditional media.

- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of marketing professionals, including direct reports and cross-functional team members.

Budget Management
- Develop and manage the consumer marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and optimization of marketing spend.
- Monitor and report on financial performance, including ROI, KPIs, and other relevant metrics.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including newsroom, product and finance, to ensure cohesive and effective marketing strategies.
- Collaborate with external partners, agencies, and vendors to execute marketing initiatives and campaigns.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Track and analyze campaign performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to achieve marketing goals.
- Prepare and present regular reports on marketing performance, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Innovation & Trends:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in consumer marketing.
- Drive innovation and creative thinking within the marketing team to stay ahead of market trends and competitive pressures.
The details: This role requires superior leadership skills and a proven ability to grow a robust content-based subscription business. Ideal candidates will also have the following skills.
- 12+ years experience in marketing or related domains with a proven track record developing and scaling consumer acquisition, retention, and membership.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven, audience-centric development.
- Expertise in cross-channel marketing and tools, including paid media and email.
- Excellent team management skills.
- Agility with cross-functional collaboration across editorial, product, brand, communications, finance stakeholders.
- Proactive, persistent approach to problem solving.
- Strong metabolism of market trends and consumer behavior.
- Sense of humor is a plus.
Starting salary for this role is in the range of $155,000 - $210,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
