Junior Civil Engineer

Hire Resolve is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to join our client's team in Montague Gardens.

The Junior Civil Engineer assists Construction Managers with the planning, construction, and management of civil engineering projects. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience on construction sites.

Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret project drawings and plans
• Help with planning and managing work schedules
• Coordinate with stakeholders (clients, engineers, managers) for design changes and modifications
• Draft temporary works using CAD
• Survey and set out structures
• Oversee and manage work activities
• Manage resources and materials
• Solve unexpected construction problems
• Ensure work is completed on time and meets quality standards
• Attend site meetings
• Manage and assess safety protocols
• Prepare client reports
• Basic project scheduling using MS Projects

Requirements

• BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering or Advanced Diploma from a Technikon
• 3-5 years of experience in medium to large pipeline construction projects
• Knowledge of engineering codes and technical standards
• CAD experience
• Registration as a Candidate Technician with ECSA (advantageous)
• Valid driver’s license
• Medically fit
• Preference given to candidates based in the Western Cape
• Good grasp of engineering concepts and standards
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Detail-oriented problem-solving skills
