KAYAK seeks a Senior Product Manager with e-commerce expertise to enhance our travel booking experience for leisure and business products. The ideal candidate has API experience in the travel industry and is dedicated to creating seamless, engaging booking experiences. You will optimize checkout processes, boost partner bookings, and prioritize projects through collaboration.
This role will be required to work from our Cambridge or Concord, MA office at least 3 days per week.
In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for the booking and servicing experience and roadmap for all platforms (but particularly across our mobile website and apps).
- Define and prioritize user problems and needs, accounting for multiple verticals, brands, locales and languages.
- Support the expansion of booking and servicing on KAYAK through new suppliers and partners to meet the goals of our leisure and business (K4B) offerings.
- Craft feature requirements, weighing impact against goals and technical feasibility.
- Become a booking funnel maven, encouraging knowledge of our partner inventory, data and accuracy complexities, payment options, add-ons, drop-off points, until you’re recognized as the chief advocate for how booking on KAYAK offers the most value to travelers and partners.
- Build and cultivate positive relationships with both internal and external partners, working closely with them to understand their needs and motivations and design solutions that match user needs and partner interest.
- Align team members across the organization around common goals.
- Measure and analyze insights from product changes, chasing agreed upon metrics and the opportunities our data, user research and A/B experiment results might reveal.
- Work with customer support and UX to collect feedback from and respond to users.
- Supervise competitive landscape and stay informed about both travel and e-commerce spaces, especially within Flights, and the latest capabilities across multiple platforms.
Please apply if you have:
- A consumer-centric attitude and a background in e-commerce or B2C.
- Specific experience in working with travel-related APIs and booking flows, with knowledge of New Distribution Capability (NDC) as a plus.
- Experience supporting product strategy and collaborating with engineering teams to advocate for user needs and drive solutions.
- Familiarity with tailoring development approaches for web and mobile platforms based on use cases and constraints.
- Proficiency in data analysis, including running SQL queries and using data to drive focus and team alignment.
- Collaboration skills with team members from all levels of the business, across time zones.
- Ability to align product opportunities with business goals and support that with thoughtful decisions and clear communication.
- Personal experience as a regular traveler, offering firsthand insight into user challenges during trip planning and online booking.
- BS degree or equivalent experience required, technical background strongly preferred, MBA or similar experience advantageous.
