The Assistant Controller is responsible for assisting in managing company’s financial status, and assisting with management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting within the company.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for full general ledger accounting
- Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts
- Maintain and record fixed assets
- Preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Maintain & keep highly confidential information secure
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to management’s attention
- Maintain company accounting procedures and processes
- Assist with audits, taxes and property tax returns
- Prepare financial reports for taxes, regulatory agencies, and stockholders
- Prepare and file local compliance reporting as necessary including state licensing/corporation renewals
- Prepare and file sales taxes for multiple states and localities
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Required 4+ years of first-hand accounting experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred
- Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite knowledge
- High Level working proficiency with accounting software
- You must have exceptional hands on knowledge of accounting
- Mandatory to have and maintain advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
- Able to analyze financial records and interpret
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent research and problem-solving skills
- Must be highly resourceful
- Able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
