Electrical Chargehand

RPO Recruitment is currently partnering with a leading mining company in Mpumalanga, and they are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Chargehand to join their team. As an Electrical Chargehand in the mining industry, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating electrical maintenance and repair work on various mining equipment and systems. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of electrical systems within the mining facility.

In this position, you will supervise a team of electricians, assign tasks, and ensure that work is performed safely and efficiently. You will also be responsible for conducting regular inspections, troubleshooting electrical issues, and implementing preventative maintenance programs. Your strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and attention to detail will contribute to the success of the mining operations.

Requirements

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• N6 or National Diploma in Engineering
• Electrical Trade Test Certificate
• First Aid Certificate
• Flame proof and Gas testing
• Medium Voltage Certificate would be advantageous
• At least 3 years’ experience working in a Coal Mine on the following machines: 12HM31 JNAII, feeder breaker, Shuttle car & Fletcher roof bolters, switch gear, EMIS belt Drivers, 6,6KV & 22KV switching.
• Valid driver's license
• Good knowledge of mining electrical systems and equipment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Adherence to safety regulations and procedures
