Quality Improvement and Risk Analysis Specialist

Starting Salary: $60,385 - $72,462

GGRC is committed to assisting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities lead lives of liberty and opportunity. We are looking for a Quality Improvement and Risk Analysis Specialist to support the coordination of the agency’s SIR process and provider quality improvement initiatives.

Where will I work?

The Quality Improvement and Risk Analysis Specialist position is a full-time position operating out of the San Francisco office. This position will require you travel locally within the counties of San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin. Access to reliable transportation permitting travel to and between many different locations throughout the day in order to perform the outlined responsibilities of the position.

What will I do?

  • Reviews and approves SIRs for submission to Department of Developmental Services (DDS) daily;
  • Oversees, coordinates and tracks SIRs and follow-up.
  • Ensures that agency is adhering to Title 17 Code of Regulations Sections 54327 (a) and 54327.1 and the Welfare and Institutions Code 15610.63 and 15610.67, and amendments related to the passage of AB40.
  • Oversees the SIR policy and procedures process.
  • Provides consultation and guidance to service coordinators regarding special incidents.
  • Performs SIR trend analysis. Specifically identifies SIR trends for vendors, vendor categories and type of incidents and relays this information to Supervisor and related committees.
  • Responsible for running and distributing overdue SIR report weekly
  • Responsible for routing of SIRS to all appropriate parties.
  • Maintains a central SIR logging system.
  • Assists in conducting SIR training with agency staff.
  • Assists in the management of Medicaid Waiver1915i SPA cases, as needed.
  • Monitoring of Enhanced Behavioral Support and Community Crisis Homes.
  • Responsible for the correction action plan process and follow up that may include coordination with QA specialist, Home Liaison, social workers, provider, CCL, DDS etc.
  • Performs follow up on provider complaints and/or concerns. This may include that may include unannounced visits, coordination with CCL, and follow up with case management.
  • Conduct service provider trainings related to SIR reporting and quality improvement topics as appropriate.
  • This role will take part in GGRC Risk Management Committee Activities including but not limited to: data compilation, agenda development/distribution, tracking/distributing committee minutes, and serving as a GGRC Risk Management Committee member.
  • Overseeing initiatives for analysis of special incident reporting and mitigation activities.
  • Compile reports for DDS submission when needed.
  • Performs other responsibilities deemed necessary.

Requirements

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Social Work, Social Services, or related human services field required. Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in the field of or similar to that of developmental disabilities.
  • General knowledge and familiarity with regional center process and Title 17, SIR regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience writing special incident reports and following up on completed special incident reports.
  • Demonstrates person centered thinking skills and strategies in their work product.
  • Evidence of leadership qualities and ability to undertake multiple projects and follow them through to completion.
  • Ability to gather, review and analyze data to prepare clear and concise written reports.
  • Must be proficient on the computer and familiar with a variety of software programs, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Must possess exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge regarding current trends and philosophies in the field of developmental disabilities.
