DevOps Engineer

As a member of this team, you will be in the forefront of counter-sUAS (small unmanned aerial systems) technology.

Job Description

Working as a member of the Software Development team, you will apply your DevOps skills and knowledge to establish solid systems and processes for the build, release and production of WhiteFox software. In this position, you will support multiple products and participate in all phases of the delivery lifecycle, including design, development, test automation, release and deployment.

Location

Remote with occasional onsite in San Luis Obispo, CA

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers to support adoption of continuous delivery by automating the build, release, testing, packaging, and deployment of applications
• Create automated scripts for provisioning development systems
• Manage and monitor cloud-based infrastructure to support software applications, services, development and production 
• Support manufacturing with software configuration and installations
• Support field software installations and upgrades
• Incorporate automated tests and reporting mechanisms into the build process
• Document build, release and deployment processes
• Research and develop new tools to expand CI/CD capabilities
• Provide testing and guidance to ensure software security

Skills

• Strong experience with CI/CD and best practices
• Strong exp with Git - Git workflows, repository management
• Strong scripting/programming experience - Shell, Python, Rust
• Strong proficiency with Linux operating systems and networking
• Experience with Docker and virtualization software
• Experience with Bazel (preferred)

Qualifications

• BS or higher Computer Science degree, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated at least 3 years of experience in a DevOps role
