Quantitative Researcher - Share.Market (by PhonePe)

Share.Market, by PhonePe, is seeking a skilled Quantitative Researcher to join our team. We are a small, agile team within PhonePe, focused on disrupting the stock broking industry by offering intelligence-led broking through system-driven investments and research tools. We specialize in the Indian equity and derivatives markets, with our flagship portfolios demonstrating an alpha of 40%+ over the benchmark since launch in the past year.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct research and statistical analysis in the evaluation of securities
Work with large data sets - fundamental, price, sentiment - to predict and test statistical market patterns
Conceptualize new signals, develop and continuously improve existing models, and translate algorithms into code
Back test and implement investment models and signals in a live environment
Develop advanced market analytics tools for investors & traders looking to make informed decisions. Some of these include

Portfolio analyzer and optimizer
Smart RMS
Market sentiment tools
Mutual fund performance attribution
Customizable screeners and alerts

Requirements:

BTech/BSc degree from a tier 1 engineering college
1-3 years of professional experience
Prior experience/knowledge of Python, SQL, Machine Learning, Probability, statistical analysis, and data visualization
Previous experience with machine learning techniques and their applications in finance is a plus
Strong demonstrated interest in Financial markets
Should be comfortable functioning at the intersection of multiple teams in a startup environment
Entrepreneurial, result oriented, accountable, should be comfortable taking the initiative & driving the project through from ideation, research, & all the way to deployment
Strong willingness to learn whatever specific knowledge the project requires
Previous analytical / engineering experience preferred
