About the Team

As a part of the Fulfillment and Experience (F&E) team at Meesho, you will be at the forefront of using data to drive exceptional experiences for our Suppliers and Users. Our team is pivotal in solving complex, industry-defining problems at scale, making an impact on overall Supplier & User experience.

About the Role

As the Assistant Manager - Payments, you will take full ownership of our payments platform, ensuring seamless and timely processing of transactions. You will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness in our payment processes. Your role will involve leveraging your expertise in Excel and SQL to manage, analyze, and improve payment workflows. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that our payment systems operate smoothly and meet business needs.

Your guiding question in this role will be “Are our payment processes delivering the best possible experience for both users and sellers?” You will answer this question every day by focusing on user-centric problem identification and resolution. This means understanding and addressing the pain points of both end-users and sellers, ensuring that our payment processes are smooth, efficient, and satisfactory for all parties involved. Your efforts will drive enhancements that improve the overall payment experience, benefiting both the customers and the sellers we support.

What you will do

  • Payment Platform Management: Own and oversee the payments platform, ensuring accurate, timely, and secure processing of all transactions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for all payment-related inquiries and issues. Collaborate with internal teams (Finance, Operations, Tech) and external partners (vendors, banks) to resolve problems and drive improvements.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize Excel and SQL to analyze payment data, identify trends, and generate insights. Develop reports to track performance metrics and ensure compliance with payment policies.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and address inefficiencies within the payment processes. Develop and implement SOPs that enhance the scalability and effectiveness of payment operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor payment workflows and make data-driven recommendations to improve speed, accuracy, and cost-efficiency. Test and deploy new technologies or processes that enhance the payment experience.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with various teams including Finance, IT, and Customer Service to align payment processes with overall business goals. Participate in strategic meetings to advocate for and implement necessary changes.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve payment-related issues proactively. Work to mitigate risks and manage exceptions to maintain high service levels.

What you will need

  • B.Tech/MBA, degree from Premium college.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience, preferably in Strategy & Operations/Management Consulting with a strong analytical focus.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying relational databases and manipulating large datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to create interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
