The opportunity:

We are looking for a passionate Events Coordinator to join our in-house Events, Awards & Digital team. You will provide support to the team who deliver a diverse range of premium in-person, digital and hybrid events, including multi-day and multi-stream conferences, gala dinners and award ceremonies, workshops and webinars. This role also assists on delivering our annual Ozwater event, the largest water conference and exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere.  This role also provides support to our Member Engagement Managers in the coordination of major state-based events.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Handling all registration and general event queries
  • Coordinating sponsor and member registration benefits
  • Coordinating pre, during and post event site tours
  • Working closely with our technology providers to integrate delegate data into on-site technology
  • Travel management for speakers, team members & others as required
  • Liaising with and managing business relationships with relevant suppliers and contractors including venues, audio visual companies, entertainers etc.
  • Developing a comprehensive event order for the management of events on-site.
  • Preparing on-site event material including name badges, programs, menus etc.
  • Managing onsite event operations for small to medium events using a detailed event order.
  • Collaborating with other teams within AWA to provide event services as required.
  • Assisting with the comprehensive wrap up of events including final survey preparation and distribution, final report and financial reconciliation.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar role, or a recent graduate in an events or marketing discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver technical and networking events or similar work experience gained whilst studying.
  • Can-do attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Experience with event software and be a proficient technology user
  • Self-starter with commitment to the team’s overall success
  • Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
