The Work You'll Do

Our Consulting team plays an essential role in bringing a detailed technical understanding of indirect tax legislation and the associated commercial considerations to our clients to help them navigate the rapidly changing global tax landscape.

The Senior Consultant contributes to the Consulting services team through the provision of more complex tax advice and associated research to Sovos’ clients. The Senior Consultant will often be the lead Consulting contact during the sales process while delivering an outstanding customer service experience. As the lead contact, the Senior Consultant is also responsible for maintaining key customer relationships, leading to increased consulting opportunities in the future.

The role also assists Compliance teams with escalation of queries and technical support and risk management where required. 

More specifically you will:

  • Identify opportunities with existing and new clients for new work to the business
  • Develop and maintains own portfolio of clients
  • Generate technical ideas and opportunities to take to market
  • Lead and deliver consulting projects often through collaboration with others
  • Sign off business leads up to postholder’s level of expertise
  • Support the Consultants with the Consulting Services function
  • Collaborate on all sales and compliance matters including the provision and assistance with taxation technical support to the sales and Compliance teams including attending and leading sales calls; drafting proposals; responding to client queries, audits, tax authority communications; and, all similar matters
  • Ensure all risk management processes are followed
  • Ensure high standards of client service are maintained at all times
  • Liaise with the account management team to ensure that a consistently high level of service is delivered to clients in respect of both core compliance and other Sovos offerings
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant tax principles and relevant legislation to ensure a high level of data accuracy and to assist Sales and Marketing with technical advice as required
  • Represent company at external events and attend, manage and run client meetings
  • Sign off Consulting technical advice up to postholder’s level of expertise where directed
  • Mentor new Consulting Services staff members
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

 

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor’s degree, CTA qualified or equivalent work related experience preferred
  • Obtained a knowledge of taxation (preferably VAT, IPT and other indirect taxes) and will ideally have a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
  • Excellent time management, decision making, and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and cross-functionally
  • Detail oriented and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
