The role:
The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of several banking-related projects, focusing on delivery excellence and risk management. This role involves managing a team of project managers, ensuring all projects are aligned with the organization’s strategic goals, and delivering results within scope, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in program and project management within the banking industry, with a methodical approach to processes, hard indicators, and risk management.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and manage a portfolio of banking projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives, with a focus on core or digital banking.
- Supervise and mentor project managers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery and the professional development of the team.
- Develop and maintain program roadmaps, schedules, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor project progress and performance.
- Implement and manage robust risk management processes across all projects, proactively identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination among project teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of project status reports, focusing on data-driven insights and hard indicators to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive project success and continuous improvement in program management processes and methodologies.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- PMP, PgMP, or other relevant project management certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in program management, with a strong focus on delivery and the banking industry, ideally in core or digital banking.
- Proven experience managing complex projects and leading project managers with a focus on risk management and KPI tracking.
- Methodical approach to processes and a strong understanding of banking industry standards, regulations, and market trends.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on team development.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
