Summary: Are you ready to be a part of an exciting team dedicated to crafting cutting-edge environmental monitoring products that measure sunlight? We are looking for a skilled Electromechanical Assembly Technician to join our close-knit manufacturing environment. In this role, you will take on a diverse range of responsibilities, contributing to various phases of assembly work. Your tasks will encompass soldering and rework at the component level, electrical assembly, mechanical assembly, and optical assembly, all vital components of our precision measurement products.
Key Responsibilities: - Prototype and Low-Volume PCA Assembly: Solder and desolder PCBA components and modify printed circuit boards for prototype and low-volume production runs.
- Electrical Wiring: Skillfully connect components, wires, and cables, utilizing a range of pins, sockets, and crimping tools.
- Mechanical Assembly: Participate in mechanical assembly tasks such as connector installation, o-ring and pressure housing assembly, and enclosure builds.
- Optical Assembly: Handle intricate optical components, involving cleaning, bonding, and the precise assembly of optical elements.
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Use a variety of electronic test equipment, including multimeters and power supplies, to test and troubleshoot assembled electronics and PCAs.
- Documentation: Follow assembly instructions, schematics, and engineering drawings meticulously, documenting work completed via a product traveler.
- Collaboration: Assist the engineering team with prototype builds and provide valuable feedback to improve existing documentation.
- Inventory Management: Engage in low-volume Bill of Materials (BOM) kitting and maintain the stockroom, identifying shortages, and replenishing components as required.
- Adaptability: Shift between tasks efficiently to address changing production priorities.
- Supervisory: This role does not involve direct supervisory responsibilities.
Required Qualifications: - Experience: Minimum of 2 years in electrical assembly with an acute attention to detail. Mechanical and Optical assembly experience is a plus, but we are open to providing training for these responsibilities.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required, with technical school graduate status or equivalent experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook email), electronics, soldering, and component-level assembly skills.
- ESD Handling: Familiarity with electronic component ESD handling procedures.
- Testing Skills: Some experience using multimeters and power supplies.
- Instruction Following: Ability to read and follow written instructions, as well as schematics to identify proper components.
- Learning Attitude: Willingness and aptitude to learn new skills.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail, resulting in neat, accurate, and consistent work.
- Organization: Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized work area.
- Dexterity: Exceptional eye-hand coordination and steady hands to work with components smaller than 1/8 of an inch.
- Independence: Work effectively independently and take ownership of your tasks.
- Communication: Effective communication skills to convey information to colleagues and supervisors.
Additional Preferred Abilities: - Optics Expertise: Experience handling, inspecting, cleaning, and bonding optics.
- Testing Proficiency: Capability to test optical assemblies for compliance with defined standards.
- Tool Proficiency: Competency in using measurement tools, gauges, meters, and assembly hand tools, including small power tools.
- Data Management: Record, test, and input data into databases as assemblies are tested.
