Responsibilities:

• Evaluate existing architectures, identify gaps, and propose courses of action to improve stability, availability, manageability, and costs
• Create application architectural guidelines and standards for cloud native applications
• Design, develop, and implement hybrid cloud environments
• Design, develop, and implement legacy to cloud migration plans for applications with proprietary technical debt
• Design, develop, and implement containerization strategy for applications leveraging Docker & Kubernetes
• Design, implement, and execute Backup and Recovery and Business Continuity processes
• Design, implement, and execute security standards for applications in on-premise or public cloud infrastructures
• Monitor environments for security vulnerabilities and take actions to remediate and/or mitigate risks
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Monitor applications and services within the environments, take actions to resolve issues and implement strategies to prevent future occurrences
• Monitor cloud vendor & on-premise maintenance and outages, assess impact, and develop strategies to minimize impact

Education / Training

• Bachelors Degree in computer or systems engineering related major or equivalent related work experience

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors Degree in computer or systems engineering related major or equivalent related work experience
• 5-15 years of IT development experience
• 3-5 years of implementing Docker containers and container orchestration softwares
• Strong background in major cloud provider features
• Well versed in the FOSS landscape and Spring projects
• Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes cluster deployments preferably within AWS
• Experience managing environments with deployments of HTTPS services and Java web applications
• Strong background in Devops related practices such as CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and infrastructure as code
• Experience with the following development and Devops related tools: Git, Jenkins, GitHub
• Teamwork and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Java development experience including usage of Spring Boot and Maven
• Experience supporting large AWS deployments using a multi-account organizational structure
• Experience supporting Spring Boot application deployments as docker images
• Experience with legacy IDE's and platforms, specifically from the IBM suite
• Healthcare and/or Insurance industry experience

Strong familiarity with OWASP top 10 and software scanning tools (e.g. WhiteSource, Contrast, Veracode, SonarKube, etc..)
Additional Skills: AWS Cloud, IAC, Heavy Emphasis on Security in Cloud, Java/Python
