ASC Director of Nursing

Arizona Pain is seeking a qualified Director of Nursing. This position will be based out of our Scottsdale Surgery Center.

Schedule: Full time, **No Nights, Holidays, or On Call! **

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Director of Nursing is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Surgery Center. This includes but is not limited to overseeing CMS accreditation compliance, supply chain, clinical services oversight, Quality control and Infection control management, and related supporting services of the ASC and its personnel. The ideal candidate can partner with other DONs and clinical directors in our company to problem solve ASC and patient care issues.

What you’ll do:

This position oversees day-to-day management throughout the ASC facility. Along with the facility business administrator, the nursing director leads and supervises staff. Working in conjunction with other directors in our company, they will collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff, and ensure compliance to state, federal and accreditation standards.

Requirements:

• R.N. license (bachelor’s degree preferred) able to perform all clinical roles within the ASC (Preop-PACU-Circulator)
• Outpatient and/or ambulatory surgery center experience and Operating Room experience is required.
• Experience in ASC accreditation with an accrediting body
• Identify problems and inefficiencies; determine root cause; devise solution; take ownership of implementation.
• Able to multi-task and take responsibility for the results and success of staff and ASC.
• Previous management and human resources experience preferred.
• Previous Pain Management experience is preferred.

Major Functions and Responsibilities:

The main function of the Director of Nursing is that of leadership and promotion of cooperative staff effort. The Director of Nursing is responsible for the allocation and completion of assigned functions in daily operations. This is a busy ASC - Experience in this space is required.

Areas of accountability of the Director of Nursing are outlined as follows:

• Monitor day-to-day internal flow and physician relationships.
• Assist in Pre-Op, PACU, and O.R.
• Coordinate activity within the O.R. suite.
• Maintain adherence to operating policy/procedure manuals.
• Monitor daily staffing of employees and assignments.
• Maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, co-workers, and other health team members.
• Responsible for performance evaluation of all clinical personnel.
• Coordinate the provision and control of materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Monitor payroll/ overtime.

EDUCATION and/ or Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Arizona Registered Nurse License
• Previous experience as a DON in an ASC environment is required.
• Current American Heart Assn. BLS and ACLS certifications
