Harco Fittings LLC, founded in 1966 in Lynchburg, Virginia is a producer of gasketed joint injection-molded PVC and push-on gasketed joint ductile fittings. We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Yard Worker. This role is based in our facility in Bellingham, WA and reports to the Production Lead.

The hours are Mo - Fri from 6am until 2.30pm and will start at $25.00 per hour.

Job Summary

The Yard Worker is responsible for gathering materials from the yard and transporting to the production area. This position is required to work in all climate conditions throughout the entire year.

Principal Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading of PVC pipe on to flatbed trailers, inspecting for damage of products, verifying quantities, and moving to storage areas or production
• Organization of pipe in the yard area
• Maintenance and upkeep of PVC storage areas and gravel roads leading to storage and production areas
• Cycle counting of PVC pipe
• Cutting of pipe with skill saw
• Transporting scrap PVC material to the regrind area
• Monitor trash and cardboard compactors and schedule pickups when full
• Fueling and pre shift inspections of equipment
• Work closely with inventory control and assist production when needed
• Other duties as assigned by production lead or management

Requirements

• High School diploma or certificate of completion is preferred
• Applicant will need to be able to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment (i.e, skill saw, pipe bender, weed hacker, chainsaw, snowblower, lawnmower)
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Applicant must be able to read, write and speak English
• Individuals will need to understand and follow established work procedures, including mandated safety guidelines
• Set work schedule Monday – Friday; Overtime and Weekends as needed

Working Conditions

• Requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, bending, and lifting up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
• Fast-paced environment where a considerable amount of sensory attention is required
• Willingness to work in varying working conditions, predominately outdoors, and in all weather conditions
