K3 Educational Assistant

Position:  K3 Educational Assistant, full time

What you will do…

The Educational Assistant (EA) is a critical partner to the lead teacher, assisting in the implementation of Milwaukee College Prep’s curriculum and managing classroom culture. The Educational Assistant will receive daily instructions from the lead teacher; generally, an EA will:

• Provide daily support and instruction with scholars one-on-one or in small groups
• Build strong relationships with parents
• Monitor scholars during breakfast, lunch and recess
• Substitute teach when lead teacher is absent
• Model the excellence we expect from our scholars

What you should have…

• 60 college credits
• Necessary ECE (Early Childhood Education) licensing
• Must obtain Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting Certification annually prior to first day with scholars.
• Prior experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
• A passion for making a difference in the lives of children.
• Absolute belief in every child’s ability to succeed and tenacity to ensure that success.
