What's exciting about the role
This role is responsible for implementing corporate and regional Human Resource programs and activities within the Nordics region (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland) to support global business units operating there.
You will partner closely with the local commercial business managers and employees on country specific issues as well as the HR global/functional HRBP’s with employees located in the country. In many cases the HRM will have no direct reports and will partner with the Centers of Excellence (COEs) to ensure various business unit people programs are supported.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Support departments in developing and delivering strategic HR plans to attract, retain and develop the workforce, in line with the overall business direction. Drive employee morale and development actions.
- Build strong relationships with key leaders and people managers, fostering trust and promoting collaboration. Counsel, coach and train local managers and employees. Be visible to all employees through regular visits to different sites as appropriate.
- Ensure the local business has practical, regularly updated, easily understood and well communicated HR policies and procedures to maintain local compliance and support the business goals of the various business units present locally.
- Provide insights and practical advice based on an intimate knowledge of local employment law and its practical application supporting a rapidly changing business. Handle employee relations at all levels, including dealing with unions, works councils and other employee representative bodies as appropriate.
- Partner with the Talent Acquisition team and functional HRBP’s to understand local talent availability. Coordinate with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to help close on best in class talent. Assist as needed in HR administration regarding local hiring laws and processes. Establish and conduct orientation and training programs for new joiners.
- Partner with the functional HRBP and Total Rewards team to maintain and review benefits programs, including compensation. Provide country specific knowledge relating to total rewards.
- Work proactively within the company’s matrix structure to identify, escalate and where possible resolve human capital issues in a proactive, smooth and effective way. Execute plans to integrate mergers and acquisitions as appropriate.
Skills and Experience we desire
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources or related field, further training and certifications will be a plus
- Proficient in English - Additional Nordic languages besides the country you are employed in being Native is a plus
- Proven experience of several years as HR Manager for a large international or mid-sized organization
- In depth knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)
- Strong understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures for the dedicated countries
- Very good knowledge of MS Office and HRMS (Workday experience is a plus)
- Proactive, hands-on, self-starter, open-minded and focused on supporting business goals
- Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution aptitude
- Ability to operate effectively in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong ethics and reliability is necessary to quickly gain credibility across all levels of the organization
- Willingness to travel frequently and flexibly throughout the supported countries
