At SPAN, we believe in:
Enabling homes and vehicles powered by clean energy
Making electrification upgrades possible
Building more resilient homes with reliable backup
Designing a flexible and distributed electrical grid
We are seeking an experienced Senior/Staff NPI Program Manager who will work closely with our internal hardware/software engineering teams and externally with our strategic partners and contract manufacturers, to bring our bespoke products to market.
This position will report directly to our Director of NPI Programs and be an integral part of the SCM Organization (Supply Chain & Manufacturing).
In this position, you will be responsible for:
NPI Program Management: Manage new product development activities tied to supply chain and manufacturing from concept through product launch (EVT, DVT, PVT). This will include determining the goals, objectives, deliverables, schedules, resources required, budgets and program management governance with internal and external stakeholders.
Contract Manufacturing Management: You have experience working with large contract manufacturers both domestically and offshore. These skills and experience allow you to understand the timeline impact of contract manufacturers' activities and you are proactively identifying and mitigating risks arising from such activities.
Strategic Partner/Supplier Readiness & Management: Determine and track all dependent action items/steps needed to be complete at our suppliers and contract manufacturers, aligning with our product launch schedules. This will include managing material readiness, equipment/tooling, NRE/CapEx, Test systems and infrastructure. Though this role will not directly manage the Manufacturing Engineering team, the rhythm and priority/actions will be defined by the Senior/Staff NPI Program Manager.
BOM - Bill of Materials tracking: given the nature of NPI programs, you will be the key point of contact and source of truths for all sourcing/purchasing activities involving mechanical parts. You will work closely with our Mechanical Engineering teams and NPI Manufacturing teams to drive alignment and clarity, ultimately resulting in clear instructions to our pool of suppliers.
Help SPAN counterparts in driving quality improvements in the product and with CM’s and
Suppliers.
Ensure the resolution of technical issues in NPI development and production that are impacting the schedule with all cross functional teams (Engineering, quality, manufacturing test, suppliers and contract manufacturing partners).
