Principal IT Analyst / Grade 7

Summary/Objective:
An IT Analysts prime responsibility includes analyzing the business processes and organization to ensure smooth operations. Research on existing business systems, identifying the existence of any hardware (or) software related problems and providing solutions to resolve the problems testing systems for determining their capabilities and functionalities.(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions for this role.)

Required Education and Experience:

B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or other related discipline, OR 8 yrs. equivalent work experience; AND
12 yrs. experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and knowledge of implementing the Agile methodology;
12 yrs. experience analyzing business processes;
12 yrs. experience in risk analysis and risk management;
12 yrs. Experience in business, functional and technical knowledge of computer systems;
Ability to lead workshops, build consensus and present best practices/point of view effectively;
Reporting experience with good cost analysis skills;
Desire and ability to adapt to new languages and coding standards;
Comprehensive knowledge of client-server, object-oriented, and web-based systems, applications, environments and relevant tools/technology;
Ability to resolve complex technical problems/issues;
Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills;
Excellent verbal and written communication as well as presentation skills.

Preferred Experience:

Knowledge of requirements tools such as Rational Requisite Pro; and/or
Prior experience in Dept. of VA (or) any US Government Agency.
