Internship Digitalization

Summary 

As a member of the digitalization team, your goal is to help architect and realize a software-infrastructure landscape which drives the business forward. The work we do can be split into two major segments:

Ø  LEGACY STUFF: investigate existing practices and outdated tools, identify bottlenecks and improvement possibilities, suggest / brainstorm on potential solutions and ultimately implement them.

Ø  OUT OF THE BOX: this is where the frontiers are expanded by introducing new ideas and concepts that could revolutionize the way we do things.

 

Responsibilities/Main Tasks 

·                     You will be writing code.

·                     You will be interacting with and maintaining databases.

[ Occasional interaction with humans might also be required ]

·                     You are expected to be thinking of ways to make the life our colleagues easier.

[ This exclusively refers to the business aspect of their lives ]

 

You may also be required to carry out any other duties that are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by the department manager.

 

Profile/Qualifications 

·                     Technical background (either Mechanical Engineering or IT-related)

·                     “Hands on” mentality

·                     Advanced knowledge of a programing language, ideally VBA. Some very good alternatives are Python, JavaScript and/or PHP.

·                     Basic knowledge of a database language (e.g., SQL)

·                     Fluent in English or German; ideally both

·                     Structured and organized approach
