RECEIVING SPECIALIST (STARSHIP) - TEMPORARY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate with requestors to prioritize shipment of items and provide tracking as needed
- Purchase items including: supplies, warranties, repairs, hardware, perishables, and services
- Meet delivery dates on purchase orders to ensure the closure of open purchase orders upon receipt
- Verify all material received for conformity with accompanying paperwork. Check for damage and confirm correct part numbers, quantities and revisions
- Receive all materials/packages and transact receipt in the ERP/WARP receiving system
- Coordinate non-flight inventory transfers between sites
- Acknowledge and take receipt of all incoming materials and packages, identify receipt in ERP/Warp then transport to receiving inspection, stockroom or identified buyer/requestor
- Count material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and post totals to non-flight inventory records
- Affix verification and traceability on required serialized parts before issuing
- Organize controlled-inventory storage systems and locations, and make improvements to material flow and footprint
- Transport work-in-process material between work centers
- Help other disciplines in the logistics department when needed
POSITION DETAILS:
This is a temporary position with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.
- LENGTH OF POSITION: 3 months
- LOCATION: Brownsville, TX
- SHIFT: Monday to Friday (6 AM – 6 PM)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2+ years of experience in shipping and receiving
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field
- Experience coordinating with multiple departments in support of purchase order placement
- Experience working with suppliers and developing supplier relationships
- Strong understanding of shelf-life storage and proper rotation of stock
- Windows operating systems; intermediate level
- Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), intermediate level
- Familiar with use for variety of material handling and inventory control equipment, carts, palette jacks, scanners, printers, forklifts, etc.
- Basic understanding of the safe use of hand tools
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasionally exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body
- Ability to climb ladders/lifts at elevated heights
- Ability to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Receiving Specialist/Level 1: $18.00/hour
Receiving Specialist/Level 2: $20.00/hour
Receiving Specialist/Level 3: $22.50/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
