Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimator to join our esteemed Design/Build General Contractor team in Roswell, GA. The Estimator will play a crucial role in preparing and coordinating comprehensive and precise estimates for our diverse projects. This position entails preparing proposal packages, preliminary schedules, clarifications, and quantity surveys. The successful candidate will be adept at fostering strong relationships with internal team members, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure the seamless execution of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and coordinate estimates for design-build, conceptual, and plans/specifications projects with meticulous attention to detail.
- Analyze project specifications, including sketches, blueprints, and sample layouts, to accurately determine estimated costs and pricing.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and estimate the costs of materials, labor, and equipment necessary to fulfill contract requirements.
- Solicit and meticulously review quotes from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure cost-efficiency.
- Assist the operations team with the procurement of subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the operations team throughout the preconstruction process to review plans, specifications, and general project requirements.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of pricing and costs for materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment across all trade disciplines.
- Manage multiple preconstruction projects concurrently, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Attend on-site pre-bid/proposal conferences and site visits to gather essential project information.
- Lead and coordinate the design team on awarded projects, including comprehensive drawing reviews.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to facilitate project success.
- Conduct post-award reviews of projects to compare actual costs against estimated costs to ensure accuracy and refine future estimates.
- Perform additional duties as required, in alignment with the position's scope.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of 3-7 years of experience as an estimator for a General Contractor or subcontractor, with specific experience in Warehouses, Industrial, Distribution, Manufacturing, and/or Data Centers.
- Proficiency with Onscreen Takeoff software.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and commitment to project excellence.
