THE ROLE

As a Payments Optimization Analyst, reporting to the Senior Payments Manager, you will play a pivotal role in improving payment processing efficiency, positively impacting both the customer experience and the company's profitability. By leveraging data-driven insights, you'll analyse payment data, identify optimization opportunities, and collaborate across teams to implement strategies that lower costs, increase approval rates, and enhance customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do:

Analyse payment processing workflows to detect inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
Identify opportunities to optimise payment routing to reduce costs and improve approval rates.
Work with large datasets related to payment transactions, identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies that affect payment performance.
Create reports and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as success rates, transaction costs, and customer payment preferences.
Build models to forecast the financial implications of various payment optimization strategies.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management on payment optimization initiatives and their impact on business outcomes.
Conduct A/B testing on payment gateways, methods, and new technologies to find the best solutions for the business.

Who You Are:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in data or business analytics, ideally within payments, fintech, or e-commerce sectors.
Proficiency in SQL (SQL Server, BigQuery, or similar platforms).
Experience with data visualisation tools like Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to transform data into actionable insights and business strategies.
High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
