Position Overview
The US Import Manager is responsible for executing the end-to-end process of bringing goods into the United States from other countries for delivery to FBN facilities, 3rd party warehouses, and tolling manufacturers. This member of the US Crop Protection Supply Chain team provides critical support to both production planning and finished goods planning to ensure proper materials coverage and accurate scheduling. The US Import Manager is responsible for ensuring that imported goods meet all applicable standards and regulations, and that all transactions follow company procedures, meet expected service-level agreements, and have sufficient, thorough documentation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the import and intermodal logistics process of goods and materials from foreign countries to their final destination in the United States
- Monitor and execute a significant volume of data entry on international shipments across each stage, from purchase acceptance at the supplier through to receipt of goods at the final destination
- Enforce compliance with foreign trade laws and regulations
- Provide subject matter expertise on tariffs and proactively inform stakeholders of tariff changes and their anticipated impact
- Coordinate with freight forwarding/brokerage companies globally, which includes daily communication, tracking, and performance monitoring
- Work closely with offshore contractors and vendors to monitor timely receipt of goods at foreign ports of lading
- Track and ensure smooth transitions to domestic freight solutions from domestic ports of unlading
- Monitor all active shipments and proactively address all issues
- Coordinate and upload purchase documents, billing documents, quality control documents, and shipping documents into NetSuite system
- Facilitate timely billing/payment activities to ensure that vendors, brokers, carriers, and duties/tariffs are paid correctly and on time
- Monitor pricing, market trends, research new vendors, and manage vendor relationships
- Negotiate SLA’s and pricing with vendors
- Contribute to and support ongoing process improvement initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in relevant field
- 3+ years experience managing the import process
- Knowledge of import and customs regulations
- Solid understanding of international logistics and compliance, including HTS, duties and tariffs, and INCOTERMS
- Power user experience in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and Google Sheets (Excel)
- Experience using Google Workspace (GMail, Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.) and/or Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Import and logistics experience with agrochemicals specifically
- Experience with S&OP process
- Experience with cost of goods accounting

The following represents FBN's reasonable estimate of the US national average base salary range for this role based on market data and placement of internal employees: $88,000-$107,000. This salary range may vary based on geography and the higher cost of labor in some metropolitan areas.
